For an excerpt from Karl Ove Knausgaard’s “My Struggle, Book Two” that you can read on the New Yorker’s Page Turner.
If you follow my work you’re probably no stranger to despair, loneliness and misery, so it’s a good read for you. The author is clearly influenced by Proust, and not just in terms of scale (there are 6 volumes of Min Kamp).
Thanks as usual to AD Jordan Awan!

Kerascoët– Beautiful Darkness
Finally a North American release ( with English translation! ) due out later this year. Drawn and Quaterly
I love this book. Masterfully written and drawn by this wonderful duo of illustrators/cartoonists Marie Pommepuy and Sébastien Cosset. I asked Sébastien when we met them at a gallery show at Arludik who, what where in the world did this story come from. He waves both hands in disclaim and says, “Marie.” Amazing.

I’m obsessed with these children’s book illustrations from Russian illustrator Н.И. Мальцев (N.I. Maltsev) from stories by Ferdowsi in the Library of World Literature for Children. Full size here.
